Recipes - Sangria

 

This is a traditional Spanish fruit punch with a kick - not unlike mulled wine but always served ice cold. There are hundreds of recipes for Sangria - do a Google search if this one doesn't fit the bill.  

 

Ingredients:
1 Bottle of red wine (don't use cheap stuff!)
Juice of 1 Lemon, quartered
Juice of 1 Orange - or cup of fresh orange juice from a carton
2 Tbsp sugar
1 measure of brandy
2 Cups lemonade / club soda
Additional fruit slices for garnish
 
Preparation:
Pour the wine into a glass jug or punch bowl and add the fruit juice, sugar and brandy. Toss in the additional fruit slices - lemon, orange or apple and chill overnight. Add the soda or lemonade just before serving
If you'd like to serve right away rathere than chill overnight, make sure the wine is cold and serve with ice.
